Well your not the only one with this problem. I have the exact same thing going on, quite frustrating. I load Eqwindows up and run EQ from their. I log on using this login name and it goes to the server screen. Then when I try to enter a server, it crashes with that same error (the 'Eqgfx_dx8.dll' has a fault or something like that). It just started doing this, I have the resolution set on 800x600. I have a celron 333 (<---bunch a junk
) with 192 Megs. I only have the original EQ and Ruins of Kunark installed. I have a different video card then Haunted07 though. Its a RAGE PRO TURBO AGP2x. It crashes when I load the Eqemu servers and the regular EQ servers. Some help on this would be GREATLY appreciated
And another thing off of this subject, yet along similar lines is this: When I first got everything I needed to play off other ppl's servers (Eqhost.txt, Eqwindows, and login name/pw from here) I would try to enter a server and it would say, You dont have the expansions installed that are currently enabled on this account, this may be because you moved the files or deleted them..blah...blah...blah, and then I could enter the server after their little warning box (this is because I only have the original EQ and RoK installed as I stated earlier) and the character screen would come up. Everything worked fine up til then, but when I would click on one of my characters and then enter world it would crash to my desktop.
Any help with BOTH of these would be great
