I was working on AFIII secretly for a while, it goes off of the original rendition of AF, uses the core concepts that were implemented before, but takes it to a whole other level.
Mod Types
- Everything is stat driven like the original, that includes seeing an exact influence summary when items are equipped/unequipped +/-
Fast Paced
- Most spells were turned to instant cast, normalized recast times
- All classes had the ability to "lunge" into a target and do damage, this was scaled based on statistic modifiers as well
Stat Aug System
- This was another Diablo influenced system, you have ranks of each:
Items
- It had a lot of characteristics of the old AF - (4-5 ranks of the same items in the game) so we end up having 4 million unique items in loot tables. You could combine 4 items of the same time to make a "Legendary" version of them all.
- Diablo loot system just like before
I have pages of concept docs for AFIII that I know would make a very fun and fast paced solo server, but unfortunately I have a lot of things on my plate. But if people express enough interest I may pick it back up in the near future
