Like he said, we paid for the game when we went to Walmart/BestBuy/Wherever to buy the CDs+Expansions. The 12$ a month to Sony is to keep the servers up and running. Upgrades, T1-+ Connection(s) they have per server, the Administrators to run the VPN they're on, The houseing costs of the servers, basicly the upkeep. So, there is no stealing involved when using EQEmu. I got my CDs right here and I played EQLive for over a year. Though I have to say that EQEmu has MUCH better constumer service than EQL will ever have.
