bad user/ pass? wat the hell?! i signed up and did all that crap and i still cant play!?

Okay, then let me try asking nicer.

I did go create an account on here, and I get:

EqEmu Error: Bad username/password

Any advice? Does it take a little while for users to propogate over or does the login server look at the forums database.

It uses the forum info. I have heard of this problem a lot for new users. I havent personaly looked into it. Ive heard everything from its server side to check your eqhost file. If your EQhost.txt file is up to date then I dont know what to tell you.

However if you are a new to this you may be somewhat disapointed. The new version 0.5.0 is the only available to you and at the moment those servers are in testing. I dont think that 0.5.0 has been released yet. I operate a 0.4.4 server which offers full playablilty, but to play you need critical files from 12/02. If you have a up to date patched version of EQ there is no longer a way for you to "go back".

As long as everything goes smoothly here 0.5.0 should be playable very soon.

I want to get 0.5.0 tested so it can get to EQLive quality.

I actaully have a 0.5.0 (latest from CVS) compiled on my linux server. I had to massage some of the data to get it to load correctly (missing commas, duplicate IDs, etc) but want to first "play" on one that is up, just to see.

And, yes my eqhosts is correct (as should be evident by the message) and my DataRate is set to 8.0.

Oh well, I try it again later.

No, actualy you can't play BECAUSE you have never play'd emu befor.

Bad username / password is a Server side issue there is nothing you can do but be patient. They also moved the login so everything is all messed up right now. Just give them time to fix the issues.

The login is up now, the Issue is with creating new accounts. and dont ask for an ETA they will faix it as soon as they can asking them to hurry and bugging them just pisses everyone off.

Ahh dang :P Was just turned to EqEmu from a friend. Had been using EthernalQuest but everyone tells me I'm nuts for it ;P
