Want to play for the PVP

Sup all, i used to be a very good dueler on EQ and i kinda wanna play again since there is no game with its combat system out right now ad probably never will be again. From what i hear you cant just download the game right now and play, is this true? If i wanted to play on your servers tonight it would be immpossible right? Ill beat anyone in a straight melle duel and by that i mean war vs monk not monk vs mage or monk vs necro. Thanks
