Default OpenZone 7.4

1. Re-exported brick_bank, brick_store, and brick_tavern mesh library objects as the last time I did it I forgot to include the torches and lanterns.

2. Made fixes to character import from .AN8 and export to .WLD.

3. Expanded .XWF support and exporting. Anything that can be exported to .WLD can now also be exported to .XWF.

4. Internal enhancements and bugfixes to OpenZone's engine.

5. Added a goblin and human model to \library\creatures, and enhanced the elf model to support robed variants. Robed variants might not be visible in the live client and might only be usable by a third-party client .

OpenZone 7.4 can be downloaded here:

Happy New Year, everyone; there's more to come, hopefully soon (sooner if I can get some help with all this)...

Not really important (and likely something on my end heh) but all these pics posted are so tiny, you can't really see them. Almost like they are thumbnails. Is that intentional?

Heh, yes. While I sound retarded most of the time I post, I am not actually... retarded. The link opens a new IE browser, with a 80x60 pixel pic in the corner - unclickable. Like I said, not that important. I just want to revel in the goodness that is Windcatcherstuffs.

Yes, that one turned out normal size (for me). I don't use any of IE6's fancy resizer features, so I don't know what's up. If it's just me, I can live with it.

Here's an exact size screenie of my IE browser opening the other one, if you're interested.

At my age, that's just too small to make out. Nice tentacle head, btw.

Windcatcher,

Just letting you know I havent started on any icons yet. Been busy past week tracking down some parasite in OK who thought he could steal and get away with my money after I did a purchase from his website on December 5th. The guy lives in OK and I live in WV he recieved my payment on Dec. 5th and emailed me saying he recieved it and that he would send out next day priority mail with tracking number. I email him back asking for the tracking number, but he doesnt respond. I wait 6 days (because I trade alot thru mail with friends in NM & CA and know priority mail travels from there to me in 5 or 6 business days). Nothing came, Emailed the guy heard nothing. Emailed the guy each day it didnt arrive, never got a reply from the guy. Note that not counting the 5th, 25 business days has gone by package never arrived, never heard from this guy, and he never sent the tracking#.

Enraged, I call up a few friends who make yearly subscriptions for unlimited background & dmv checks. When done, I emailed this guy with: his full name, real address, private mail box address, age, phone number, phone service provider, ss#, license plate number, make/model/year of vehicle, his height/weight/eye&hair color as appears on drivers license, a weblink to googlemaps pinpointing his real address and his private box locations, mapquest driving directions from basically the WV state line to his real address in OK. Then I stated if I didnt hear from him within 24 hours I was paying him a visit.

Less than 8 hours he emails me saying "Fine! I will send you your money back via certified mail with tracking number, leave me alone and dont email me again!" Next day, he emails again saying " Here is the tracking number: 7004 2510 0006 0707 1176 , I sent your money via money order and as certified mail so be home to claim it. Stay away from me!" This was issued on Jan 5th so now I just have to type that tracking number in usps website daily to check on its status. I hate people who try to scam you during online purchases. And what pisses me off even more is when they try to rip you around christmas.

I will start on those icons once this mess gets sorted out. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

That sounded like a sucky situation to be in. I'm glad you had it work out best for you. But your response to him just had me on the floor.

I LOVE your reply to the situation.
Good show.

LOL, nice one, Teppen. I predict you're going to quickly become the go-to guy whenever anyone gets scammed

Anyhow, here's another goodie:

Hook horrors are upwards of 9 feet tall and prefer the depths of the earth...

I haven't set up the custom animations for this one yet, but I wanted to show it off...

OpenZone 7.5 has some required enhancements that will be necessary to export these new models. I *might* try to get it out the door this weekend, but it depends on whether I want to make some more models first (a dark elf model is on my short list).

The gods have decided to create dark elves...

When I'm finished making them I'll post OpenZone 7.5 with the models I've created to date. This will give us three playable models (playable ones have eight face variations) and several mob models.
