Default Quest issues

I am running the latest eqemu source on gentoo with the PEQ cvs database and quests. For some reason my quests are not working properly. Most of the quest npc's will respond to hails and initiate dialog. I can even receive bags and quest items from them. But when I do turn ins they just eat the stuff. Also my soulbinders are unresponsive. Perl is installed by default on gentoo and I did emerge IO-stringy. I also ran the update script in the quests folder which downloaded the latest CVS and chmod 777 all of the files.

I was also wondering why all new characters start with a status level of 20 (apprentice guide) rather than 0, and how I can change this default value so that any new character created on my server will start with a status of 0.

Thanks in advance

Default

Both of the above questions were resolved via IRC. The status can be set in the eqemu_config.xml file under the setting <defaultstatus>20</defaultstatus> and the quest problem was solved by copying the plugins directory from the quest folder and putting it in the root server directory.

Thanks FatherNiwtwit and BWStripes!
