Default Binding EQ to a single processor

Hello,

Not sure if this is the right forum, but I think that anybody who knows how to bind EQ to a single processor (1 of 2 in a dual core) will be able to help.

I can log into eq and everything works, but i run TOO fast, which won't work on the legit server i am playing on. I remember reading somewhere someone having a dual core issue, and having to bind EQ to a single processor with a program in order to slow it down, and I believe this can be addressed with runfirst, found here http://www.activeplus.com/us/freeware/runfirst/

I used this guide http://forums.station.sony.com/eq/po...topic_id=17405
(yes i'm attempting to do this on a bootcamped windows dual core mac) and it suggests creating shortcut to work with runfirst that says this

"C:\Program Files\Sony\Everquest\runfirst.exe" everquest.exe

How can i make this work with the eqgame.exe patchme instruction that eqemu demands?

Thanks a ton for your help!

John Gus

If you just go to this site and download one of the programs it will work just fine, thats what I am using on my notebook.

You can set your affinity on the fly with it. You can also set it to launch with Windows and by adding EQGame.exe to favorites, you can have it automatically set affinities for you.

Only thing is doesnt have for options is to automatically set each instance of EQ to a seperate CPU, but Im guessing if you create seperate copies of EQGame.exe, each one with a different name, you can set favorites for each copy. Only need to do that if ya plan on boxing multiple toons. Worst case, all copies of EQ run on the same core.
Talks about the same program but also tells how ya might be able to deal with multiple toons, which is why I copied it.
