DOWNTIME NOTICE
EQEmulator will be switching hosts on Saturday, August 22nd, Between 12-3 PM EST.

As promised, our new host is up. We will be transitioning over to it this weekend.

The DNS changes that were made last weekend weren't suppose to involve any actual changes, just background changes, but the server ended up giving out the wrong records, resulting in the problems that occured. The real changes will be happening this weekend and will involve more DNS Changes.

A DNS Record "new.eqemulator.net" pointing to the new server (208.64.37.23) has been made and should work throughout the changes. The main DNS Change should happen sometime mid-day Saturday, and will propagate throughout the day.

At the same time as this change, the forums will be locked on the old host to ensure that no changes are made to the database while it gets moved to the new host. The Loginserver will stay up until it is ready to go on the new host, at which point DNS Changes will be made. Anyone with cached DNS at that point should switch over to using new.eqemulator.net for the time being.

IRC has already been set up on the new host and linked to our network, and will be the main point of communication, so be on there to get status updates. I also highly recommend that server admins be on IRC to be ready to make sure their servers are connecting to the new host's loginserver. You can connect to the IRC network using new.eqemulator.net.
