Default Cannot connect to server

Hey there, sorry if this has already been asked, i looked and could not find it. I have followed the instructions and managed to log in and see the server screens (with servers on them, not a blank list), but every time I try to connect to one, the client freezes. I'm running a vista 32 bit with a triple core 1.8 or 2.1 or something, can't remember how to check at the moment, sorry. I've turned off the firewall, allowed it past and everything, but nothing works. I've tried it in all the compatibility modes, and when i run it in anything but vista, the screen blacks and i have to ctrl alt del to close it. if i run it straight off vista, it just stops responding and i can exit out of it. I think that's about as specific as i can get, havent patched from soe or any outside source like shards of dalaya either.

Anyone have any idea of a possible fix?
