Please someone.. It's about that time
I want a classic classic server, graphics, UI, music, enemies names. They made EQ1 Free to Play now, so can someone please make a VERY classic server without infringement rights? Or at least get in contact with SOE or something, It
s 2012, I figured it would be able to happen by now. SoD does not have a classic server.

Yes and I need the entire package which I'm sure I won't get. Like old player names, enemies names, and nothing past like kunark. The UI is important also, I've played 1999 and used classic UIs (weren't the same, but similar), and I just wish the same as it was. Hours to level, and work hard for everything. Level 50 was the maximum, just was a lot of fun. I did tunnel trading as well, which was nostalgic in a sense, but I want classic classic . But I don't think we'll ever get to re-live that.

You'll never get 'old player names' unless you convince all the old players from your server to come play somewhere P1999 has old enemies names and nothing past Kunark. They also have hours to level and work hard for everything. Level 60 is the maximum, because level 60 was the maximum with Kunark. So other than the UI and the 'old player names' I really don't understand what you are asking for that p1999 doesn't have to offer.

I don't like advertising SOE games on here, but I think the closest you can get is EQMac, they are completely free now, and you have the option of using the original UI still (The small box for a viewport if you so decide).

Hobart disabled the old UI in a recent update.
You can still get it on windows using 'other' means, though...

I was thinking...
If I really wanted that 'old eq' feel, I could just script up a bunch of NPCs to:
- Camp all of the mobs that I really want or need to hunt
- At random intervals, train every mob in zone past my location
- Send random shouts in EC about some item being for sale
- Send messages about a GM event in a certain zone and then introduce horrible lag or crash the zone as soon as I get there
Now that's classic EQ!

ROFL so very true. Oh, dont forget you have to randomly die every 40-60 min while staring at your spell book, regening 2 mana every tick for 30+ min.
People look at "Classic" EQ with Rose Colored glasses and only remember the fun parts and repress much of the nightmare that old EQ truely was. The reason alot think it was so awesome is because it was really the first true 3D version of this genre to actually be playable.
They forget the 12 hour nightmarish corpse runs that resulted in forever lost gear and only remember chasing kicking snakes in Qeynos and half naked G-String WoodElves running around GFay.
