not connecting

I have a new server running on windows server 2008, odbe and ocx bat worked perfect. I put my info into the db.ini. i have run the test connection tool and it passes.
I'm not sure what to do next, non of the Eqemu tools will connect.

Try installing Directx9 had the same issue with my 2008r2 server.

I have been able to get some tools to run from a remote machine npc editor will not conect and diablo like loot maker has run time error.

Two guesses, assuming you have everything in the db.ini set properly, including having the everquest_folder pointing to a valid client install. Although the comment in the db.ini might lead you to believe this isn't important, I've found some of the tools crash without it when they try and play the music.

1) Your MySQL is not setup to allow remote connections.
2) The firewall on the remote machine is blocking port 3306.

The tools will not work on R2008 or any server OS
You need win7/Vista

Too many missing things on these OS's have missing dll's that come standard on newer OS
