Default Windows Memory error

Installed EQ on my dell laptop, running windows 7, intell core i3-2310 proc. It loads, I can log in and get to the server screen, select my server (I play on project1999), acts like it is loading, screen goes black and I get this error message titled "EverQuest: Windows - Application Error"
Message body reads:
The instruction at 0x02 c81 c6b refrenced memory at 0x00000018.
The momory could not be read.

I have read the boards, faq, etc, I am not exactly sure what this error is refrencing to get more specific about the fix - any thoughts/ideas/tips/suggestions?

Thanks for any help

Best Regards

try setting resolution to a smaller resolution, also maybe try installing or reinstalling direct x.

I had same exact error on my dell laptop and almost gave up

You can only play on the main laptop screen, if you have an external monitor as well disable it

Set your screen resolution to 1280 X 768 you can change it once you get in game ie mine is set to max of 1600 x 900 its just the initial setup

Also set in eqclient.ini those settings

If you read the tech forum there is a page for it. Above is what fixed it for me
