Boat size

Is there a trick to manipulating the boat size? Obviously the Butcherblock Boat, race 72 if you change it to male you get the same boat that is next to the shore line. The one one the shore line is about half the size. There definitely should be a way to make that boat small, the Siren's Bane.

I tried a few tricks like the texture, hair, thinking something may let me change the size but nothing happens.

Looking further in, I see the "beta" boat along the shore is actually a door. That is one solid boat though.
