RoF2 GUI XML file error

I downloaded the rof2 client around the 1st of January, followed the set up guide which seemed similar to my UF client, but any time I try to log into a server the game crashes due to a GUI XML file error. I tried swapping the default UI from ROF with the default UI from the UF client. That allows me to get to the character select screen but not enter the game, since I get a string not found error. I checked the uierrors.txt file and this is what is says.

I didn't think they had updated it in the last week or so...

Does the RoF2 client still list the build date/time at the top of the dbg file?

I would suggest downloading the client again from Steam and make sure you do not alter anything other than the eqhosts.txt file and create the shortcut to eqgame.exe with the patchme argument as the Play Guide says.

It sounds like your UI files were somehow corrupted or updated, or maybe you copied some bad files over to your RoF2 folder from a previous install. Getting a clean install and not modifying or patching anything should get you up and working without issues.

Just an update. The fresh install worked perfectly, my guess is there must have been some left over junk that RoF2 didn't like when I first only over-wrote my emu folder.
