Default Berserker/SK poking issue with PEQ

I'm running a Windows 7 server configured with Addakius' updated PEQ repack. Has anyone noticed that you can't improve a Berserker's piercing skill? They can wield a 2-handed poker but the skill never increases and the Berserker Guildmaster doesn't list the skill to dump training points into either. I thought this was confined to the Berserker but a friend told me this is the case for SK's too. Can anyone shed any light on this? Using both ROF and the UF clients here.

You don't use the skill 2H Pierce until you're on the RoF2 client. It uses piercing until then.
