Default <SOLVED> [Song] Jaxon's Jig O'Vigor: Can't scribe, requires level 255

The level 3 Bard song, Jaxan's Jig o''Vigor, cannot be scribed, it gives me the error message:

Code:
You will have to achieve level 255 before you can scribe the Jaxan's Jig o'Vigor.
I did a search on the forums and in my favorite search engine and found that the problem is usually associated with different spells_us.txt. So, I shut down my server components, re-copied the spells_us.txt from my client to the server directory and restarted eqemu. Still have this issue.

I am using SoF client. As far as I know, I do not have this problem with other spells, having tested out a BL to level 25 and a Shaman to level 25. I'm still trying out the different classes to see if they will also have this issue.

After I get that message, it locks the client up, I cannot click on anything, open Inventory, attack; however, I can move around.

I figured it out. I compared the song 'Chant of Battle' to the song 'Jaxan's Jig o'Vigor' and found where the level is not set correctly. I changed the value in the database and was able to both scribe and play it.

In the table 'spells_new' there is a column called 'classes8' that seems to set the level. It was set to 255 for Jaxan's Jig o'Vigor. I changed it to '3', restarted the server and it worked.

Not sure where I should report this error, or, to whom.

EQEmu emulates live. Jaxan's Jig o'Vigor no longer exists on live. Therefore, whoever created the database you're using probably set it to level 255 on purpose.

Huh, I didn't know that. I never used it that much when I played live, and I certainly haven't kept up with what's currently going on. How would I remove it from the vendor and game completely?

If you look in the Development section of these forums, there is various database editing tools available. I use various one's for
different things, as needed. GeorgeS's Tools, I use for quick editing merchant items. It's an individual preference.

Which client did you use?
Some days ago, I met the similar problem when I was using the Titan client. Then I began to use RoF2, it worked well.
