Default enabling bots for a newbie?

Hi there, I am so sorry but i've been browsing threads on enabling bots for days now and there are broken links, things about downloading Visual Studio, Cmake ane more and loading particular files to edit them and updating certain SQL scripts that may or not be for akkas installer which I dont think I used (could be wrong but I didnt see Akka on the file name) and I can't figure out exactly how to do any of it, I've never Dev'd before so all this talk is new to me. It seems there was a nice link that had all the info on Github but the link is dead.

Does anyone know an easy step by step guide to enable bots on a windows 10 pc, I have used the standard installer located at:

https://github.com/EQEmu/Server/wiki/Windows-Server

and the server is running well. I have downloaded Cmake but not Visual Studio so please let me know if I need that.

Thanks

In your server folder, there is a file named eqemu_server.pl You simply run that script and you will get a menu with many different options for updates, etc., including installation of bots.

Make sure that you download the 'unstable' (latest) bot binaries.

There's an option under 'assets' in eqemu_server.pl

Awesome, thanks that worked!

This may or may not be a problem but I get this error message on startup now:
"[LoginServer] [Error] Error parsing message from client: bad allocation"

Everyone gets that on occasion..

..it's a server logging in (world server) and not an actual player client - just ignore it.
