Default World.exe failed error=120 & crashes

I keep getting this damn failed error and world.exe crashes. I've read a few posts that say it's the database but I'm using the official database for eqemu 4.3 as posted in the world builder forum. I tried using an older copy of that database and that doesn't work either.

Also, when I create the database using the default one provided by eqemu it works fine. However, when I reload the database with the Drawde's Worlddata I get a stream of errors about "unused spells" and then it's fine and then another stream of errors near the end about NPC's.

What can I or should I do to get this working? I spent literally hours last night getting nowhere and went to sleep extremely frustrated.

Thanks for your time.

If you post your .ini's you would have a better chance of getting help. The files you need to post are:

LoginServer.ini
MiniLogin.ini (if trying to create a LAN server)
Boot5zones.bat
eqhost.txt

Also post the exact error you're getting.

Sorry about that. Meant the eqhost.txt ~ I'm at work so I was going from memory. Up to this point, everything looks normal. What are you doing when the error shows up or when does it show up?

Here's what eqhost.txt says:

[Registration Servers]
{
"localhost:5999"
}
[Login Servers]
{
"localhost:5999"
}

......................................
I have winmysqladmin running in the background, I run minilogin.exe, and then when I run world.exe it opens and shuts immediately. Running it from the DOS-prompt yields:

Using database 'eq' at localhost
[Status] CURRENT_WORLD_VERSION:EQEMu 0.4.4-DR1
[Error] CURRENT_WORLD_VERSION:EQEMu 0.4.4-DR1
Loading Variables, zone names & items...
LoadEMuShareMemDLL::Load() failed error=120
Error: Could not load item data

Hmm, your eqhost.txt file is ok.

LoadEMuShareMemDLL::Load() failed error=120
Error: Could not load item data

The first one I'm sorry to say I can't help you with. I pretty sure it has something to do with a file for sharing memory, hence the name. As far as the settings go for that on your comp maybe someone can shed some light on the subject.

Error: Could not load item data

If you have items in your database then maybe the first error is affecting it. If you don't have items in your database already then that's why you can't load them when you boot the world server.

I know it's not much help, you're probably cussing me atm

I see others are also having this problem ... does no one know how to fix it? I've gone thru the database setup step by step countless times and with different databases and still I get this damn error.

I don't know if it matters or not but I'm running Win98se w/MS Office Suite. Mysql version 3.23.56

Use Drawde's itembooks.zip. Look at his recent posts in World Building.

I'm having the exact same problem, here's my theory:
You are using windows 98 SE, that is when you get the 120 error.
I have yet to get anything to work on my home PC's, I have XP professional on one, and Win98 SE. I load up the XP PC and it "works" just crashes/locks up, on the Char select screen, Boot up on the win98SE and still get the 120 error... haven't figured it out yet... but still learning. At work I'm running Win2000 and don't have a single problem.

Possibility that XP is having a conflict with my Gigabyte 128mb 9000 pro?

don't know... not sure if it's related to Direct X 9.0 or something else... if worse comes to worse, format and reload, and I'll try again /shrug
