Default First timer question

Im trying this out for the first time here and had some questions about setting up on linux.

Im running a redhat 7.2 server and cant seem to find any info or docs in eqemu. Is there some place that i can find just basic config info for setting this up on redhat?

And

What verison will work better for me, The current release or one of the older ones?

Thanks for your time.

Current...

The install/run process is exactly the same as windows, except you have to compile your binaries..

Set up your mysql server, source in the db.sql file, (get this in the windows .3.0 binary download).

Download the .3 source, go to the zone and world directory and do a 'make' in each one.

About all there is too it, other than that, you should be able to follow the readme instructions to set the server up..

This is the first time ive played with this at all. I havent tryd the windows yet. I found this by chance while doing a seach for a open source 3d mmorpg. Im sooo tired of running a UOX shard on my box and was looking for something a bit more updated.

Ill try playing with it and I thank for your quick responce Trumpcard.

I guess Ill see what I can come up with...

Thanks again.
