Default Offline Server Performance

I have a really hard time playing Everquest without getting disconnected and I have seen tutorials on how to run a server offline. SO I was just wondering that If I chose to play on my own server, would it be really slow or laggy due to my machine?

My Computer Stats

1.0 GHz
640 RAM
128MB Radeon 9000 Video Card
56k Modem

So, would it be really laggy or slow? Should I even try to setup an offline server?

your machine should fit. Server is little overhead as compared to client. Maybe the database would feel narrowed as of memory... but should work.

Yet your modem speed does not matter as you plan to play offline. But if you want the fun, you will have to let your friends log into your server, and then, with 56K you provide, THEY will be disconnected.

So I can run it? All by myself?

I plan to have noone join me. Just the NPC's and the Mobs

It would be GREAT if I could play offline
