Default Unsure where to look ...

Hey, its been a while since I've posted here. Its been a while since I've messed around with EQEmu, and at any rate, its good to be back.

Two questions, I've searched through topics, looked through several of the different threads etc, I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction to find what I'm looking for, and if what I'm looking for doesn't exist, could it be done.

Here goes:

I have two computers in my home, only one of them is connected to the internet, I lost my hub somewhere and can't find it for the life of me, so its time to buy a new one. I was thinking of burning a CD with all the EQEmu files, MySQL, etc and compiling it to the second computer that isn't connected to the internet, now would running a server be possible if there is no internet connection?

If it is possible you might be thinking, 'jeez, why the hell would you want to play EQEmu by yourself??' - until I get that hub, it would give me time with no hassles to get things working the way I want. If anyone is able to point me to a thread, or let me know if compiling it will be enough I would greatly appreciate it.

**Note**
The second computer does have EQ installed and was patched I believe about 3 - 4 patches ago.

Thanks

Look at the minilogin tutorials. And thats good that it was patched 3-4 patches ago because 2 or so patches ago broke minilogin. But you'll probably have to experiement with different server versions til you find the right one thats compatible.

After sourcing all the info as I had done before on my internet capapable computer, I was looking through several files to see if there was anything I could change to make this happen. On the loginserver.ini file it states:

Quote:
### --- Public Login is un-supported as is LAN playing. We recommend using the eqemulator.net Loginserver ALWAYS.
I am curious if this is still something that is true? I understand that the people who came up with EQEmu did so to enjoy EQ at a different level than what Verant/SoE offered (at least thats what I've gathered). Is there any way around this? I'm not trying to take away from what has been accomplished here. This computer is still actively used to play Everquest, and as such, EQEmu isn't usually playable for very long. If any help could be offered I would greatly appreciate it, even if its a 'No, this will not work, you can't do it ...'.
