With the anticipated release of eqemu 5.8 is the next database release far off? Havent really heard much as far as updates in a while and I do visit the peq message boards as well.

more then likely the databases will be done in eq release style.. classic first, then kunark then velious etc etc.. allows things to be fixed and done right the first time..

Hopefully not enough has changed to warrant a completely new database. New features added can be done by simply running an sql over your current db.

negative.

it is a completely new DB, with much planning put into future releases (ids, loots, etc) with a focus on being as close to live as possible in the time frame we have to work with. it is being released in sections, one expansion at a time...classic will be coming first, then kunark, velious, yadda yadda yadda.

Right, let me rephrase what I said above.

"Hopefully what has changed on EQLive isn't so major that it calls for a totally new database, and that any changes/additions because of the patch can be added by simply running an sql on top of your current database.
