Default Update Authorization Block

This is what I get when I go to the site to do this.

Username
I enter username here

Password
I enter password here

IP Adress
It records my IP addy here.

[UPDATE] <-- I click the button.

The next page says this:

Set Your Authorization Block

Invalid account/password entered, please go here and try again, or contact an EQEMu administrator

Yet I'm obviously using the same username and password that I used to log into the forum so... whats the deal?

Hope someone knows.

Your forum name is different than your login name.
Does anyone read the play guides anymore?

The problem is that I'm getting the same error. And I'm pretty sure I'm not a moron.

I'm also having a problem getting the shortcut to work. I followed the guide posted at http://humme.dk/eqemu/playguide.html and, when I try to run the shortcut I made, it tries to patch.

I've tried making the shortcut point to all of the following and none of them work.

"C:\Program Files\Sony\Everquest\Everquest.exe"
"C:\Program Files\Sony\Everquest\Everquest.exe" patchme
"C:\Program Files\Sony\Everquest\Everquest.exe" -patchme
"C:\Program Files\Sony\Everquest\eqgame.exe"
"C:\Program Files\Sony\Everquest\eqgame.exe" patchme
"C:\Program Files\Sony\Everquest\eqgame.exe" -patchme

With both of the top three options, the EQ Patcher loads and tries to patch me to the latest version. With all of the bottom options, I just get a popup that says "Please run EverQuest.exe."

What do I need to do to get the shortcut to work properly?

EDIT: Also, "C:\Program Files\Sony\Everquest" is the directory where I installed the EQ Client.

okay, im going to say this once so all you people listen up kk?

SET YOUR START IN TO:
Code:
"C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest"
SET YOUR TARGET TO:
Code:
"C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest\eqgame.exe" patchme
(If all else fails try replacing "Program Files" with "Progra~1", remove all quotes, and put a - before the patchme.)

Default Nope something is wrong

Can't log in. Not sure about the direction, playguide, either. It looks as though you want me to add the client.ini file then run eq before I add the eqhost file. Not sure how I am supposed to find the eqemu server without your host file.
Anyway it doesn't seem to be working even after I add your host file, since I still get sent to EQ's server and they update those two files the playguide tells me to download and put in my eq directory.
Oh by the way XPsp2 blocks files that are not native to the system so its a good thing you tell people to go and change the read only settings 'cause they have to unblock the file as well. (WinXP users only)
Okay here's a playguide suggestion: after each section number each action so its easier to refer to a specific area. For example:
#7
Now, the last thing you need to do is repeat the step from the beginning of Section 5 and copy THIS FILE to your EverQuest ...

Also, the above directions are a little confusing. "repeat the step from the beginning of Section 5" ??? hows is that when we haven't even been to Section 5. It is below these instructions.
If I ever get this working I'll write up some new instructions.

The playguide is very straight forward if you cant figure it out then i'm sorry, but you wont be writeing a new set of instructions.

Also try removeing the spaces after each line in your files that you copied it wont work with spaces in there, if that doesnt work your an idiot... or you overlooked something in the instructions try doing it again.
