Mystery disconnects (--Solved--)

Alright, I'm stumped. I'm patched to live as of today (October 7th '04) and have set my eqhost.txt and created my shortcut. I can log into the login server fine using my old (pre new login server) username and password, and sign into any 5.9 DR1 server (DR2 servers all give 1017s).

From there I can create a character without any trouble, but when I try to zone in I simply get kicked back to server select. I tried running my own server, which runs with 0 warnings and 0 errors (not even command warnings) and there are no errors when I try to zone in, the client connects to the zone server, then simply goes linkdead.

The dbg.txt file appears to have been nerfed as well, and says nothing of any value whatsoever.


Any help would be appreciated, I'm at a complete loss at this point.


Edit: My apologies, apparently only DR2 is compatible with the latest patch, as I was able to successfully log in and play on a DR2 server after the 1017 error mysteriously vanished. :brow:

Could you by chance back track all you did leading up to the mysterious ability to log into the DR2 servers? I am having the same issues, and can't figure it out.
