I don't know much about programming but I would love to beta test when you have something playable.

The patcher of course! (With an active EQ2 acct)

Just a reminder, even tho your asking about EQ2, it's still copyrighted files and still considered against the forum rules to be asking for those files from any place other than game-company-sanctioned distro channels.

I'm not planning on supporting an EQ2Emu project...I have serious ethical problems with trying to emulate any game that is new or relatively new. Undoubtedly a lot of effort has gone into EQ2 and I think the game should be allowed to flourish without any interference. I especially wouldn't want it on my conscience that people were using an emu to cheat (such as exploring zones ahead of others).

lmao

I have mixed feeling about people who believe that its wrong to emulate new or relatively new games but yet they emulate older games. Just a little confusing.

Why emulate when you can work on your own MMORPG.
Personally, seeing at what point EQEmu is, i would rather wish to see all efforts going into a GNU client using eqemu than another random emulator that will just emulate something that already exist, because yeah, something like MMORPGMaker would be the pwn. What miss now to get something like this is only a client and an NPC importer.

I think a MMORPG maker would be worth it . There could be a fantasy MMORPG maker, Sci-fI MMORPG maker. If you could create customizeable MMORPGS with graphics like Matrix Online or Everquest 2 and on a large scale like that. But it sure would probably take a while to make.

an mmorpg maker will never produce a quality mmorpg sry.. besides, there are already mmorpg makers.. there called free engines + a coder + someone who knows 3dsmax/maya/photoshop .. no mmorpgmaker will ever do a better job than that .. especially if you just choose fantasy and it randomly generates the maps, quests, npcs, mobs... that idea sucks huge balls.

however eq1 on eq2 engine would pwn amazing amounts of ass.. when eq2 emu comes out im totaly gonna work on that lol

Any way to get collects for eq2 into the hands of the people that need them? I have not touched the bin files, but I know some people who are collecting (myself included) and would like to submit these to the devs.
