Also, I don't know if you've answered this but, what type of connection are you running?

I have cable and I get that same message some times too... it just eventually works for me.

Well hum...

Let me think for a second...

Try completely re-downloading the patcher. (as in deleting all files of eqemu patcher on the comp and redownloading from this website)

If that doesn't work... hmm...
the only thing I can think of is a possible firewall you may or may not know about that is restricting access to connect to an outside source in this manner.

Of course, that makes absolutely no sense in the...sense...of why it would be doing that. Try disabling any firewalls and allowing full internet allowance from your computer. (don't blame me if you get hacked )

Haha.
I'll give it ago, but also I noticed when you install/extract EQEmu it only puts two files into the EverQuest folder, patcher.dll and patcher.exe maybe there is some files missing.
Anyway apart from that I'll look for anything on my computer that is causing a firewall.

No, I couldn't seem to find anymore applications that could be causing firewalls other than Norton Antivirus. In this case I will propably just have to wait for an EQEmu update or when you run the EQEmu patcher it is hosted to this site right? So there must be some kind of link where all the files are stored for the EQEmu Patch updates. If someone could give me the link I could download all the files nessescary for EQEmu to work, not saying that the EQEmu Patcher would work, but I could just use EQWindow.

Val u dont seem like a very positive person. Let me see if my 2 cent 56 k modem dl through patcher now knowledge can help. i will go real slow for all u pep out there seen prety colors jumpin around the screen.

1. Instal Eq (who would have quesed)
2. Patch Eq to the latest version by running Everquest.exe
3. Download Patcher 1.01
4. Double click i beleve its an exe instal file not lookin now so dont care
5. Point it to your everquest directore ie c:\program files\sony\everquest trilogy (yes i know theres typos in there)
6. Upon it instaling open up patcher.exe
6a. if same error oh well ull never play sucks to be you
6b. if it starts to download files good for you
7. go to www.egemu.net click on readme on the left hand side of the screen click the link in the how to set up client machine area that will direct you to a .txt file to dl this file and not open in a browser like mine did right click go down to save as and save it as forgotthefilename.txt
8. place that file into your everquest directory
9. click on your start bar click run in the field type in the location of your eqgame.exe ie for mine it was "c:\program files\sony\everquest trilogy\eqgame" patchme make sure you have patchme at the end w/o qotation mark near it
10. if you still have problems i dont think theres a person here that could break it down any simplear then that.

fyi the server for the patcher was down a while ago and i notiched at that time i was haveing problems surfing the eqemu website if you notice anything like constant page loses or being sent back to the main site then the server is most likely haveing "isues" so you cant do jack as for me i just got home from work and i got it to work right away today following those instructions note dont use the same directorie that i used as an example its only an example. Now dont even bother replying to this because im not gonna reply any more.

zag, you don't know me, so hush up!! you must be a hateful person too.
Now look, some of your posts aren't helping me at all but i'd like to thank you for trying to. Lol, some of you seem to be having a reading disability. Anyway this is EXACTLY what I did.

1.) Installed EverQuest to C:/Program Files/EverQuest/
2.) Ran the EverQuest Patcher till no more updates where available.
3.) Installed EQEmu to C:/Program Files/EverQuest/
4.) Ran EQEmu Patcher, small wait then it says, "Cannot Connect to Server" then it closes after a bar fills up.
5.) Ctrl Ced the EQHost.txt and removed my current one and Ctrl Ved the new one in.
6.) Open EQWindow, logged on EQEmu, but there is a version problem now, this will be because I have recieved the files that EQEmu Patcher is suppose to download and thats because my EQEmu Patcher won't run.

I have basically tried everything. All I need is the files that overwrites things inside the EverQuest folder so it lets EQEmu be the host instead of Sony.

I don't know whats wrong, so can't help, sorry :( But I did notice your #3, you don't have to download the emu files from the main page, they are just for those that want to create a server (if you are, sorry, I didn't know). All you need is the patcher, updated eqhost.txt and EQ to play on the servers.

You also need the Patcher to work so it can do it's part in downloading the necessary files for EQEmu to take over for you to beable to get onto the EQEmu servers and other players servers

Vald, do you use XP/ME, what? I think XP hosts its own firewall.
