Config Router with Dynamic IP addresses for your own server
If you are using a Belkin Router (cable/dsl jack built it or similar) and are finding issues after configuring your system on the DMZ.
First log into your router through web access, configure it to set your local IP as the final destination for a single DMZ connection. Write down the external IP for the DMZ as it appears on the DMZ configuration page. Log out of the router (you really do not want to save this new change because most of us are on dynamic not static ip's).
Second open up TCP/IP properties on your computers ethernet adapter. Go to the advance page and add in the EXTERNAL IP to your already setup INTERNAL IP as an added IP. What this does is guarantee that your computer routes back out properly through your default gateway which on Cable/DSL is your routers IP address.
Three change your "Boot5zones.bat" file to reflect the dynamic EXTERNAL IP at the beginning section and your INTERNAL IP as the second IP at the end section of each line. You'll also change Worldaddress in "LoginServer.ini" file to match your dynamic EXTERNAL IP.
Okay now here is the really cool stuff. No matter how many times your IP changes as long as you follow steps (1) through (3) you will be capable of running a DYNAMIC EXTERNAL IP for your server without the cost of a STATIC EXTERNAL IP. Even better is that this setup does not affect any other systems that you have on your local network, I have tested it because I have 6 up at all times.
If any of this is confusing to you please PM or Reply to this post. =)
Thanks in advance,
