You don't download anything to play, he files are for running a server.

No, there are no files required except EverQuest. But if you are trying to run a server that is a different story.

To answer all questions in this topic, this is what you must do to be able to play on EverQuest Emulator. (Note: eqhost.txt and datarate.txt are located in your EverQuest folder)

First off, log on to your forum account, go into your profile and write down your activation key. (ex. 900302045) Then change your eqhost.txt to
Code:
[Registration Servers]
{
"register.eqemulator.net:5999"
}
[Login Servers]
{
"eqlogin1.eqemulator.net:5997"
"eqlogin2.eqemulator.net:5997"
"eqlogin3.eqemulator.net:5997"
}
and sometimes changing datarate .txt to
Code:
8.0
is recommended.

Now create a shortcut of eqgame.exe (not EverQuest.exe) and right click into properties. Add (space)patchme after the last ".
Code:
"C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest\eqgame.exe" patchme
(Note:This code can change depending on where your EverQuest files are located.
