Default Everything but Minilogin working?

I have downloaded and installed mysql and sourced all the needed files, i haved changed all the .ini files and eqhost files are required.
I am able to load minilogin (lisitening on port 5999)
then i run worlld.exe it loads no errors. then i launch boot5 and they all connect into the worlld on the assigned ports.

I am running all this one one PC along with the EQclient,.
Whenever i try and login with the eqemu account i can not get past the login screen.. it hangs then says it cant connect or jsut crashed to desktop.

I have a 2nd computer i loaded a fresh copy of the eqclint (evolutions) and ran the patchme..etc and it fails also.

all machines are running WinXP home version

I don't know what else to do..

I have read that there seems to be issues with the newest patch when patching to live EQ

So i loaded another PC on my lan with the client and did not patch up to eqlive. when i try and login from that machine it says i have the wrong version and to check eqhosts

I'm not sure what else to do.. or how i can get the client be it on the same machine or on my lan to connect.

I did try and telnet to port 5999 and i see a socket connection occur on the minilogin screen, so I know im not being blocked .. so i KNOW the client machine can connect to the server running the eqemu software/minilogin

but something is preventing it from allowing the EQclient from connecting into the system.. and after a whole days worth of troubleshooting, re-tuning, verifying, reading this forum, and testing..

I am askign for anyhelp

please drop a message here or email me directly
smakdown@cox.net

thanks in advance

Minilogin no longer works and the Developer's have stated they will not produce new versions. If you have a pre-18th May eqmain.dll, you can allegedly get it working with 5.7DR4 by copying that dll into your 'patched to live directory'.

ok, thats pretty much what i determined too.
I dont have a C compiler on this machine, and it looks like the newest stuff is source code only, no bin files.

but at least that confirms why it aint working.

thanks.

Default Thats correct..

using the old eqmain.dll with the latest client will allow you to login to the current source (6-11-04) using MiniLogin. If they make drastic changes that require the new eqmain.dll, all of us MiniLogin users are going to be screwed.

I only hope there are some programming savvy eqemu fans out there that are working on a new version of a private login program.
