Quick Bot Questions

I just spun up an eqemu server and am having a blast playing on it. The bots functionality seems pretty spectacular. I have a few questions:

1) How does bot power generally compare to players? For instance, mercs on live are absurdly more powerful than players at low levels (wiz merc tanking multiple red mobs and winning), but fall behind later. Is there a power curve for these bots?

2) Is there a rule or other db change that adjusts how strong they are?

3) Do armor/weapons work for bots the same way it does for players?
