Default Friends aren't able to connect

Hello!

I've done Akkas PEQ Server Installer and I've connected and created a character via LAN but my friend can't.

We got him connected through a VPN and he's able to connect and see my Server but when he hits play it gives him Error 1017 after Server Select.

I've opened all the ports on my router for both the local IP of my machine and the IP the VPN gives. The ports I've read to open are 5998 (We're on Titanium), 9000, & 7000-7500.

Also tried manually changing his IP in the account table but that didn't work.

One thing I noticed via the Logs is he connects to the Login Server, but then it doesn't show anything in the world server logs.

When I connect it shows me connecting to the world server etc... IDK maybe something of worth there.

Any thoughts guys? I'd really love to set this up

Is your friend able to get on any of the public servers without an error ?

Being I haven't seen you say you resolved this issue, try testing whether your ports are really open or not with this site: http://canyouseeme.org

Some ISPs actually block specific ports or block the act of port forwarding altogether. I know this from personal experience where I had to call my ISP to get ports forwarded.

Are the ports I listed correct?

I'll use the checker for sure on the ones that I *think* are correct.

Edit:
7000 & 7500 gives me a timeout error.

Is that the issue?

When you open the ports on the router, did you open 7000 through to 7500 ? (not just the two).

Also, just to make sure, would you care to post your eqemu_config file, (without passwords displayed)

Opened the range 7000-75000 on my router.

I didn't change anything on my cfg

do i need to change a PW to something?

Edit: Again I did the Pre-Package so I just barely changed the cfg, trying little fixes here and there.

Didn't block my PW because i didn't set any password to be honest.

You have a lot of extra lines in there, your (server) is setup for a dual login server ?
I'm no expert, I've never played with a dual login before, but I think it takes a little more
than just adding another <login> cfg to this file. Maybe someone else who knows
more about it can elaborate on it.

Duel login setups are easy to setup you just need to have the loginserver compiled. and add in only a few extra lines in your eqemu config file. This is what its suppose to look like for dual login.

Well, thanks for that info Nightrider, I had read an "old" post about dual logins, but it talked
about adjusting server code, etc. I haven't had any use for a dual login yet, but didn't know
it was easier done than said, hahaha

So are my ports blocked at 7000-7500?

and should my next step be to talk to my ISP?

He's connecting from a VPN and he gets to the server browser through my Login Server so there is someeee connection.

So what are the next things that are happening there.

His Client is set to my VPN IP with the port 5998.

Edit: We got him connected to the 1999 Server just fine so it has to be my end in some manner.
