Anyone still have a copy of this gem that Kaiyodo wrote a long time ago? Thanks!

Not sure. I do keep some of his old files on my server. What does it do?

It was an awesome script which would convert PovRay Scenes to 3DSMax files. If anyone has it, it would be great. He wrote some great files that are no longer around but hell, thank you for backing up a few of them on your site... That is quite cool.

Maybe Windcatcher has it...

Sorry for the late response - I'm redoing my server as I type and decided that since I'm in my office, I'll look thru all 20 DVD's of backups and see what I find.

So far I've found:

VBZoneConverter - Converts a zone(.WLD) to POV-RAY3.5.

Also, there's no way to convert POV scenes (which are 2D) into 3D Max. You can go the other way IMHO.

I'm still searching...

Let me know if that program will do..

Thanks a bunch. The effort is well appreciated. What I am looking for is found in this archived thread
http://www.eqemulator.net/forums/arc...hp/t-2885.html

I figure the Maxscript he wrote would be useful too. That is what I am truly looking for. Thanks again man.

Take your time...let me know what you find.

So in essence, you need to convert the eq zones into/ultimately into MAX?
I read the archive (brought back memories ) and it seems the script is what is needed to preserve the textures.

I wrote and still have my .ms (MAX script) for preserving textures from the eqmodelviewer, and this is only for creating .3DS eq NPC's, not zones however.

But let me look at this again, and see it I can find a way to load zones into MAX with full textures...

I'll keep the thread going

I gave it my best, and all I got was untextured zones into 3D. Anyway, the only way I know this would work is to texture by hand. I'm very good at this, and probably could do a zone over 8 hours - long but doable.

Anyway good luck
