Default EQ2 Screenshots...good and bad...

Everquest 2...the scenery looks awesome...the characters look like something out of a japanimation cartoon or Final Fantasy. I hate japanimation and Final Fantasy...

I'd have to agree. The graphics are great, but the characters are a little too cartoonish. Still looks amazing though....

I fail to see the anime resemblance...

Though, not much 3D CGI looks like real anime.

It does look very nice, the proportions of the 'toons looks 'off' though.. Lizzy looks like too big a chest, and I guess the char in #5 is a halfling? Nice to see a cross-bow there..

Maybe that's why I thought it looked like anime...the goofy body proportions. Hehe...

Yeah, I was impressed with the Iksar's head. The rest of the body looked. . . off but I'm not sure why though. It looked like he was all hunched up and the breastplate didn't fit right or something.

Also this one: http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=17286

Just a note, though, I found the site sluggish and if you have a pop-up blocker (I have 2) the site doesn't work.

On a side note, for those who like fantasy-style artwork & characters, if you didn't see today's User Friendly, the Link of the Day there is for Anry's Gallery. I have followed his work for awhile now, he is definetly getting better!

I tell my friends that the characters look plastic too... like you're playing with Barbie Dolls or something.

I don't think I could go to EQ2 having to play something like that.

Yes, the graphics are infact good looking. But good graphics don't make a game fun, exciting, or worth playing. Everquest 2, like the current state of it's predecessor-Everquest, will most likely start off hot but lose steam as expansions are unveiled. EQ was such a classic game in the Classic and Kunark eras, the expansions of low quaility content drastically reduce the feeling of "fun" that was associated with the game five years ago. Man, do I miss that feeling.

Point taken. I thought it was a good game from the graphics. Now after seeing it on the home site(screenies and vids) I dont know about it.

I have seen a bunch of movies and countless screenies for EQ2 and I cant say I am too thrilled, I hate how the models look. All of them, its like they were going for realistic but stoped short at action figure. Personally I think its better to look cartoony when your trying to be cartoony, like I love how WoW looks, it feels as if I am in a comic book.

sorry but the game uses last graphic cards effects ok ...
what's amazing and difficult ?
every game can and we'll see a lot of games using them ...
now about modeling, animation, style, spell effects, immersion, it's not really amazing ...
about gameplay ? we won't know until it is out or if we are chosen as beta testers because the nda will be strong i think
