Default Precompiled Ubuntu binaries

Just wanted to share this for those wanting to run a linux server but do not want to compile the server themselves.

This was compiled on 32bit Ubuntu 10.04, and may or may not work on your system.

Since Linux is so easy to compile on, I am not sure how useful those files would be. Would probably need to make sure they are using the same version of perl and maybe other libs as well. Also, you didn't specify which revision the binaries are from. Not that sharing isn't appreciated, but it is just kinda pointless for Linux IMO. Windows binaries are much more useful. I personally wouldn't trust compiled binaries from someone else anyway, unless I knew they had a good and well-known reputation.

Revision 1889
Perl version 5.10.1
MySQL version 14.14 Distrib 5.1.41

I do agree with what your have to say, and am mainly sharing for those that are wanting to run a linux sever with little linux knowledge. Ubunutu is pretty popular anymore and more and more people use it to test out linux that have no prior knowledge of programming, command line, or anything but double clicking an icon.

That's nice of you but you really want to compile on the Linux Box your running your server from. It's not like Winblows where you can just use anything. I mean you can but you risk weird memory leaks. In most installs of Linux the stuff comes standard you just do a "make clean" then "make" and wham binary's compile right before your eyes.

And even if they do have a good reputation , they can still Screw you after gaining your trust like some people I know. Trevius is way right about that haha.
