Default SQL help plz?

Wondering how to change the connect_timeout variable to maybe a little longer. I am having trouble with my machine loading EQ, but the server seems to load after my client times out. I believe it is this because after a fresh restart, it worked for me) for like an hour now I can't get it to work again... = ( Any help is appretiated)

almost enough views for a reply! Though my question might not be valid anymore? I'm still wondering if it is a timeout, are any others having these issues?

I think this variable can be changed only in source, and need to compil after.
You start eq on same machine than the server ? Perhaps this machine lack of power or ram to run enough quickly ?

If its in the source you need to edit the code and recompile to exe

If it's in the database... Download the mySQL query browser and do a select * from [tablename] . Find your record, Find your variable, look at the lower section of the screen theres an edit button. do your edit then hit the apply changes button next to it.
