Default EQEmu In-Game Help submission

EDIT: I keep getting a PHP error when trying to attach this file here, so instead download it using this link: http://www.savefile.com/files/4094030. (10.2 KB)

I've been away for... oh, two years now (wrote a server tutorial too, if anyone remembers), and thought I'd pop back in with a little mod I created for use with the emulator. It's geared mostly for server admins, but anyone that makes use of some admin commands may find this helpful too. Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong forum. I didn't think this quite fit in any of the more specialized ones. Anyway, here's the readme:

EQEmu In-Game Help by Devlor
Date: 28/Jun/2005

Function: adds in-game help covering EQEmulator-specific GM commands, class list, race list, zone list, and a skills list for use with the various functions of these commands.

To install, simply unzip the contents of this archive to your ..\EverQuest\help directory. Once done, open up your "help.html" file in the aforementioned folder (you may or may not see the .html extension, depending on how your operating system is configured) using NotePad (or other plain-text editing program), then copy and paste the following text immediately before </body> at the end of the file:

Code:
<br><br>
7.0 Server Admin Commands
<br>
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;7.1 <a href="file:///help/eqemucommands.html"> EQEmulator Command List </a>
<br>
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;7.2 <a href="file:///help/zonelist.html"> Zone List </a>
<br>
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;7.3 <a href="file:///help/skilllist.html"> Skill List </a>
<br>
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;7.4 <a href="file:///help/racelist.html"> Race List </a>
<br>
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;7.5 <a href="file:///help/classlist.html"> Class List </a>
Sorry, I would've liked to save everyone a hassle and just include the help.html file with the changes already made, but this is a Sony official file and thus I dare not distribute it lest I risk violating certain policies against such behavior. Plus, this file may be subject to change at Sony's whim in future updates, so this will ensure a "future-proof" installation. The rest of the files were constructed by me from scratch (using others' information, cited below in credits), so these should be OK.

CREDITS: go to the EQemu Team and whoever else contributed towards writing up the GM Commands, Class List, Race List, Skills List posted on http://www.eqemulator.net/ that I used as source material. No specific authors were listed there that I could discern, so I assume you at least know who you are.

Nice mod
Also, isn't this like the mod where you add the file to the storyline folder? Seems like the same thing.

That's true I could've taken that route & simply dropped the text files into the storyline folder, but... well, call it a design decision. My personal taste was to make it look as much a part of the native EQ help system as possible, though I admit your approach would be easier for most who aren't comfortable making the edit to the help.html file I mentioned.

For any who are curious, you should be able to simply change the file extension of the files I offer here from .html to .txt & drop them into your EQ game\storyline folder & then access this same information though your storyline system in-game. Not quite as slick, IMO, but it works.

I've since added a few commands I'd previously omitted previously into the help system. If there's any interest in this, I'll post an updated version.
