EQ crashes with error after selecting server

i cant seem to get this eq: SoF to work. tryin to run classic eq on emulated server.. i have an amd phenom quad core with an ati radeon hd3200 i can get as far as the server screen i select my server then click play and i get a black window with a pause.. then i hear the starting music and get no picture besides my desktop little black window and error message application has caused an error at location (numbers that seem to change although the timing and issue seem to be the same) i also noticed as the game tries to adjust my brightness goes up significantly, not blinding but noticable.. im lost

After selecting the server for me, the windows just disappears....
I too have a phenom chip. Im running the titanium version. Installed from the retail cds that I purchased...
