How can I download EQ so I can play?

Never knew this exsisted a free way to play everquest but how can I get the game??

If you don't have an account with Steam get one. Purchase Everquest Seeds of Destruction. (I think it's $19.99 now) After it downloads do not run it until you alter the shortcut and edit your eqhost.txt file. If you run it before you make the changes, the Sony Live servers will patch it; you don't want that.

I'd strongly suggest making a backup copy of the SoD download before you start altering the files so that way you have a 'clean' copy of the directory as a backup. It should fall around 6GB total.

It doesn't cover SoD yet, because we have been waiting for the official Login Server to support SoD before updating the wiki for it. But, if you want to use the SoD client, you can read the following thread about the alternate Login Server that can be used for SoD for now:

Unfortunately, if you don't already have Titanium or SoF installed, there is no way to register your account on the alternate tsahosting.net Login Server. The only real option atm is to have someone register it for you by logging in with Titanium or SoF and using the #setlsinfo command for you. Then, you just do it again when you get in game to change your password to something private so they can't use your account again.
