319 baby.

I wouldn't have been drafted either way, though. Ahahahaha!

If I read the artical correctly, each date was drawn randomly and then assigned a number. For instance, they drew the number '234' and assigned it draft number 'one'. So you don't know if you were on the first flight or the last flight.

020 here btw.

As millions watched on TV or listened on radio, the capsules were drawn from the jar, one by one. The first date drawn was assigned a draft number of "one"; the next date drawn received draft number "two"; and so on, until each day of the year -- each potential birthday -- had been drawn from the jar and assigned a draft number.

After the lottery, draftees were called for duty in order of their draft number, beginning with number "one," proceeding to number "two," and so on, until the military's manpower needs were met. So if you drew a low number in the lottery, you were likely to be drafted; if you drew a high number, you probably wouldn't be. In this particular draft**, anyone who received a number lower than 196 was eventually called to report; anyone who received 196 or higher was not.
Yes they drew each day of the year and gave them a number then # 1 went first then #2 ect till 195.............so 1-195 went and 196 and above didnt go.

Not the way your describing your going one step to far......they took Sept 6 and gave it #6 so I would have been the 6th draft called

No, They assigned a DRAFT number to EACH randomly selected date they drew. So September 6th could have been 2, or it could have been 320.

ahh you know what, Nevermind.. I didn't even see the thing on the side that gives you the number. (I usually just see them as advertisements and ignore them.) So nevermind.
