Default Connecting to servers on 5.9

I can log into server screen but whenever i try to log onto a server the screen maximises and takes me back to the server screen. What would cause this?

Run the everquest patcher, allow it to full patch.

But if I full patch everquest, I won't be able to play. It says that if we patch after 9/14/04, we will never be able to play .....

that post was made like 3 days after the OOW patch, and the OOW patch was like 1 month ago. If you cant get into a server following the guides ive seen in every thread of this vast messageboard, then its the servers problem. Mine was up today, had my friends run around a bit spawning some mobs and gear, testing bugzors.
Patch to full
Change eqhost.exe
make a shortcut to your
Code:
"c:/program files/sony/EverQuest/eqgame.exe" patchme
and click on that shorcut.
