Default local and internet game play

What am I missing?

The situation;

I have the server running eqemu software on my lan connected to eqemu.org. no problems with the connection, I see lanys in the server list on my client and in the web page here at eqemu. I used the dyndns.org address in config and also the 1.1.1.111 address of the server. All the correct ports are open.

I have the client on my laptop connecting to eqemu.org. I noticed that in the world dos box it showed me connected as 1.1.1.1 which is the router, so I went into the database and changed my account ip to 1.1.1.1. now I can zone without getting bounced.

no one can connect while I am playing?
I see there ip address connect and run through the check list (band ips and all)
but the cant get in and play.

any ideas?
