I've heard a lot of people express they did not like the way EQ changed once Luclin came out...(i actually kinda liked it minus a few things, i hated the new barbarian model though)....this is my thing though I really liked the original particle effects and SOUND effects from casting. I noticed at one point SONY changed those and that is what really irked me..so do these emulated servers for the most part have those original particles and casting sound effects?
My thought is this.....ok got everything organized went step by step according to the process provided by:( http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka...kka=PlayGuide) ...and all set to go and then i realize its telling me i have to have either the Fay expansion pack or the titanium box set..LOL? i dont mind spending money on a product that i'm going to use obviously ,but isnt this a little obscure? what happens when we all buy up the remaining tangible eq games haha...well i'll find one to buy somewhere and have to wait another week or so to test it out.....i just really hope those servers have the original sound effects and particle effects.

You can get the unmodified spell particle effects and sounds, but you will have to modify your client. Also, the first step at the top of the page says this, it's big, it's bold, it's italics, it's underlined:
Please note: As of this time you MUST have either Everquest: Titanium Edition or Everquest: Secrets of Faydwer in order to use EQEmu.
There are also technical reasons for using these clients to connect to EQEmulator, one of them being not much is known about anything prior to EQT to the point where it is playable.
Welcome to EQEmu. If you are serious about staying, I redirect you to here:
http://project1999.org
since that project is emulating classic EQ in the EQT Client.
