Default Patch Date question

Hi.
I used to play EQemu a loooong time ago and i'm thinking of starting back up again including my own server.

~Some rule-breaking elements of this post have been removed~

Would eqnews.txt help with identifying if [the version of the client I'm using is] correct?

Thanks..

P.S. Hope that didn't break the Rules.

Check for a post started by Cisyouc that is a client version calculator. She has a little program that will compute a number based off a (CRC?) check on your eqgame.exe and a few other files -- then in that post is a set of values that say "if your client comes out to this number, that is the server version you should be using."

Nobody is allowed to "pinpoint" you to any client distribution source except Sony's official patching. And Sony's official patcher always gives you the latest version, which I'm afraid at the moment we have no server compatible with this client.
