Default Roll Back Eq to work with current version

I had just logged into eq today and patched from the "real" server. it appears that patch is not compatible with the latest EQEMU. (Am I correct in assuming this?) Is there a way to roll it back to the last compatible verison of EQ??

Thanks,
Rolos

Using what as a search? I have already read almost every post there is on the board trying to get the DB running to the EMU, I have seen posts to the effect of having to wait for the next ver. Is it that hard to answer a post with maybe a thread id? It prolly takes just as many keystrokes as I dont have the heart to tell him, and actually seems like people here help out..... I do believe I did post in the general support forum didnt I??

there's a wide number of posts treating of that subject!

to make eqemu work, u need some files that have been modified by the devs. Those files, were, in the past, accessible via an online patcher. This was illegal and had to be stopped.
So, if u don't have those files from an old session, you won't be able to play eqemu anymore till devs release a new version of the emu (no ETA).

Don't ask people to give u the modified files, this is also illegal, and labeled warez. It may also make u beeing banned from eqemu.

btw, it has also been said that you have to backup ur eq directory if u 're still playing live, keeping one version for Eqlive, and one for Eqemu, the reason is that each time u swap from one version to the other one, u would repatch that version and use stupidly lots of bandwith.

You now can't play Eqemu anymore until a new release using the Eqlive files is available.

That post will be prolly closed or deleted soon. As Trueweltall said, read the boards before posting, be smart in ur searches, think before asking...

This part is not true. To play on the emu now, you need the Dec/05/2002 client from SOE. The devs have not modified this client at all.

I don't think SOE will give you this client anymore. So, unless you were fortunate enough to save this client at the time, you are not able to play the emulator.

There's no point in looking for a loophole which will let you play the emulator. There is no "secret" fix that is only being told to a select few. Just step in line and wait. You'll have plenty of other people in this line to keep you company.

Thank you for the correction Merth. i wrongly expressed the fact that the files hasn't been modified.

Would that client have come with "ANY" storebought version possibly??
And I take it it also applies to a minilogin session??

uuuhhhh....

lets take it by the easy side :

you have a CD rom with a basic version of Everquest.
you install it.
you patch it with the Eqlive patch servers
you have an up to date version of your Everquest software, dated 07/09/2003
you can play Eqlive !

To play with Eqemu 0.4.4 or less :
Like Merth said, you need the files from the Dec/05/2002 Eqlive update.

Those files arent available anymore from the Eqlive patchers.
Eqemu's community doesnt own those files, they belong to SOE, Eqemu's community can't distribute them.
Distributing those files freely is illegal.
Distributing those files for money is illegal

THERE'S NO WAY FOR YOU TO OBTAIN THE FILES LEGALLY.
YOU CAN'T PLAY EQEMU.

Wait for the next EqEmu's release.

this has been debatted 1 million times yet on the forum, you'd better admit it.
