Default "Host not Found!" error

I've recently re-installed EQ (original cd) and configured mysql to host from and run on my own computer following the detailed guide in the HowTo section. I've had no problems starting the server -- I don't receive any db errors. However, I'm unable to get past the connect within game because of the "Host not Found!" error. I've edited my eqhost file also to mirror my server address (behind a router, my ip is 192.168.1.100)

Is there a clear answer to this in the form of "you n00b, you have to..." or must I do more configuring? Would it even be wise to remove the router and go w/o an internet connection to try this out?

I'm running 0.5.6 w/ mySQL 4.0.18 with a completely new, unpatched everquest install.

Thanks for any assitance you may have!

So I guess I'll need to wait until the latest EQ version is "compatible" with EQemu? I keep seeing everyone say not to patch past the June '04 patch to be able to play...

Thanks for your answers mattmeck.

yes, people who came before that patch arent sopose to patch again, there is no way to only patch to there so you will need to wait.

I'm guessing I'd have the same host problems if I tried to play on an established EQemu server?

no then you will have the issue that you wont have the same patch as the server, unless you find a way to back patch......and dont ask were not aloud to tell you jow to do it..........just search.
