Exclamation Alternative to Perl 5.10.0.1007? What/Is this a GOOD setup for a new Server?

Perl 5.10.0.1007 can;t be found, i have Perl 5.10.1.1007 ...
will that work with mysql 5.0.82, eqemu-rev2098-bots and peqdatabase-rev2100 and peqquest-rev2092 ????

*******I am using THIS guide.*****

can i get some pointers? i just reformated my entire windows installation to provide a fresh
environment for the new server... i'm using the guide mentioned before... any pointers???? is this a proper and
adequete setup?

I heard that that only Perl 5.10.0.1007 works ... is this true? I could really use some guidance,
I'm not doing something right here... If i can get this to work I will make a new up to date
guide for the entire community
... Just need some pointers myself. =P I haven't started the
install of anything yet, wanted to ask here first.

This is also very important! If you have another version of perl currently installed start at step 1. If you don't, start at step 5 and go on from there.

1.Backup any customizations that you need to.
2.Uninstall it via control panel.
3.Delete the c:\perl directory and empty it from the recycle bin.
4.REBOOT!
5.Install Perl 5.10.0.1007
Perl 5.10.0.1007 is what we'll use.

The version of perl that is needed depends on what version was used when the binaries were compiled. Perl version 5.10.1.1007 does work with the emulator if you compile the binaries yourself. With pre-compiled binaries it is basicly a shot in the dark as to whether or not a specific version of perl will work with it or not.
I don't know of any mysql version issues so that one should be fine. As long as you get everything else configured properly the database and quest revisions should work no problem.

As far as the guide goes the use of minilogin is terribly outdated. You may want to look at other options.

Private Server

There are of course other guides but the ones I linked are written very well and are very easy to follow.

Yes mysql 5.1.54 will work as I used that version a while back. The difference between public and private servers is mainly the loginserver that it uses. With a public server setup you would likely have it using the eqemulator.org loginserver. A private server is just that a private server where you are hosting your own loginserver. A public server is easier to get setup as there are less steps involved. You can convert between public and private server setups if you were so inclined.

I just can't get the npc's to stop eating turn ins, /broadcast doesn't work and i'm not sure if the guild window is supposed to work or not?
(Guilds are slightly bugged, ppl have to zone before they become visable as members, etc.
