Default Quick Question....

I just joined and ive had this thought in my head for a very long time... is there a way to take EQ as it is and make it into a 1 player world? where i can just play by myself but keep the whole EQ game and stuff its self. perhaps make a character editor for it so you can mess around and stuff, kinda like a magelo but it actually creats the character file and you can place it into your EQ world and play em.

is this possible or is it just too crazy a thing to think of?

Default single player

not sure if there is a specific discussion of this, but things you could do:

search the forums for setting up minilogin. you have to have a login server to connect, minilogin is for localized or lan play.

since you would not be using the "public login server", your installation would be completely private to you and anyone running on your lan. by configuring minilogin properly, you can then restrict access to your specific IP address.

as was stated previously, search the forum, there is a wealth of knowledge here.

Well this is good, but i was wondering if there was a way to run it with out like, a host and all that crap, just making it single player, not having anything to do with hooking up online and stuff, is there anything like that going on?

you will at least need to run minilogin which will allow you to play from your own computer (read, not online)

Short answer, Yes. Read the wiki about minilogin, search the forums for minilogin. Read the minilogin forum itself. No one is going to re-type instructions in this thread how to do it step-by-step. But yes, you can play by yourself privately with the current Emu and Titanium client.

Default Stand Alone Complexe

I understand the question. What he/she wants is a true stand alone copy where it is turned on with one exe and ran as if it was a copy of Dungeon Hack.

The answer is no, I hate to sound blunt but this is why. A new exe would be needed which would allow SOE to stomp this site into oblivion. Why a new exe? Simple, eqgame functions on tcp/ip calls from the emulator. Minilogin creates those calls and allows eqgame to function...sort of... Anyway, Just run the server under localhost function and then run eqgame. That

Actually the installer from eqemu.sesmar.net gets you pretty close to just being able to run an exe. You still have to install mysql and perl but anyone can do that. Check that out, can't get any easier than the installer.
