Default 0.5.0 Spell Editor ... 0.3 released

Version 0.3 released.

Changelog:
- reworked the internal structure of the program. Much easier to code now.
- Improved search function (it probably won't get any better than this without using a real database engine)

To download see the links below...

Hey all,

I once did a Spell Editor for the old spells_en format , but quit working on it because I got bored (heh). Now, with the new format, I decided to change it a bit to make it work with the spells_us format.

It's far from finished, but it works. Here's quick overview (see the readme.txt):

- Displays most values (and has an "expert" mode that displays all values, whether its meaning is known or not)
- Can add new spells
- Modify and delete existing spells
- Simple search function
- Pretty ugly GUI

Some missing features:
- New Spell Icon has no selection window (click on a EQ classic icon to see what I mean). New icons can be selected with the edit field and the up/down button right next to icon)
- I know the offsets of the reagents, but they're not implemented yet.
- Same with other values (note: You can always change any value via the "expert mode" tab)

Download the bin (Win32) here (~1200kb):

Download the source (Delphi) here (~1200kb):
http://camongrel.hbnet.de/files/emu_spell_source.zip

Feedback welcome.

Not bad Mongrel, definately a great start on a new spell editor. I for one am VERY happy you are making this because I was getting pushed into doing it :P, and I am sure that this will make many people happy as well. Keep up the good work. Maybe we can package our editors in the future : .

BTW... 100th Post, I'm officially an ass. WOOHOO

I know, but I found most shifted offsets. Except for some new fields at the end. Hard for me to figure out their meaning, since they're probably all used by ultra high level spells in the endgame, and I'm not even playing EQ, much less being in the endgame.

Version 0.2 is out. Links haven't changed (see above and the other thread "List of 3rd party tools").

Here are the release notes:

WARNING!!!
There are very few sanity checks. This means you can probably mess up EQ real good, if you enter text into a field that is supposed to have a number in it.

WARNING!!! No.2
The "this spell has changed. do you want to save your changes" function is a bit buggy. It sometimes reports a modification even if there wasn't one.

changelog:
- All new spell visual effects
- Push up
- Reagents
- Focus items
- bug fix: Once again loads spells on startup (this can be turned on/off at the preferences dialog)

-----------------------------------

>> Maybe we can package our editors in the future?
Sure, but I don't think it's neccessary, because of the new sticky thread about 3rd party tools by Wiz
