Default Host Change

EQEmulator has completed the host move. If you are having problems connecting to the loginserver, try flushing your DNS (ipconfig /flushdns). If that doesn't work, try this eqhost:

Quote:
[LoginServer]
Host=login.eqemulator.net:5998
If that still doesn't work, try replacing login.eqemulator.net with 216.59.33.136.

Default Can't change eqhost file

Hi there,

I've followed the directions exactly however when I go to save the new information in the eqhost file I get an error stating 'Cannot create file.' Any suggestions?

Also I downloaded the launcher hoping to bypass this however while I can pull up the files I don't see how to actually install it.

Help!

So my emu has been working for months, and I even played yesterday.

However, starting today, I can't connect to the server and my internet is working fine... Any ideas?

sounds like that file might be locked/read only, open the properties of the file and see if the read only box is checked

Try editing the eq host file by hand.

btw best to try starting a new thread next time, as this is a year old thread and people are confused thinking this has something to do with today's server crash. Nothing to do with the crash or installing current host files, really.

The poster above you, and myself already tried "editing the eqhost file by hand".

How else would you edit it? With your mind?

In any case. I changed mine, multiple times, and even made a complete new fresh EQ folder from scratch, followed the getting started guide for that folder, and still nothing.

Login servers are down period right now. Changing everything won't do anything. Wait till server is back up.

Default Any luck with the servers?

I just installed mine and i'm having the damndest time finding a server. Any news of them being back up yet? If so, what should i change my Host=login to? It keeps sticking on the login part of the program and won't go any further.
